•Assessment of your use of research for creating your hand drawing characters’ designs: I looked at many different Artists and how they show the personality of the character through visual hints. Colour, hue and shape play a big factor in how a character is designed. I looked at designs such as monster high and steven universe to create my characters with these things in mind. I also watched tutorials from Lavendertowne on youtube to help with the visual personality of my characters.
• Assessment of your use of research used for digital drawn characters: much like traditional designers I chose to use the reference of those on my blog. I chose to use the cell shaded colouring style from the original source material but often with shading referenced from steven universe and dunilicious on Instagram. I try to keep my lines fluid and clean so its pleasing to the eye and leaves an impression on the audience due to its clean sharp style.
• Assessment of your use of research used for digitally drawn GIF: I wanted my gif to be smooth and simple like many of the Tumblr gifs as it would be better accepted by a wider audience. cute clean and simple are often favoured and due to the time restraint, I felt it was most appropriate to stick to this criteria. I wanted it to have the same visual look as the sailor Saturn gif famously used for the vaporwave remix of plastic love designed by mangaka Naoko Takeuchi.

• Assessment of your use of research used for creating ideas for digital backgrounds for your stage/set design:
I feel as though I could have done more research into the subject of my set design more before I created my studio; though I am overall happy with the product I feel a more informed product could have been greater. I tried to focus heavily on the mood the colour gave and the connotations of such objects like beanbags. Research may have helped me further realise that making small dainty objects such as chairs is rather difficult and thus would have made me rethink and leave it out of my concept art.
• Assessment of your use of Research used for storyboarding: For my storyboard I decided to go for a very quick and simple approach to it focusing on the motion; I decided making fully polished illustrations much like Disney for each frame would be pointless for the length of material Im creating so decided to take a more Starwars approach and focus more on the placement of the subjects and how they're moved. Ideally, a clearer storyboard would be easier for someone to read if I was to pitch the idea so more revisions may need to be made in the future and improvements can be made in the execution.
• Assessment of your use of Research used for 3D materials used for Stage design: In the execution of my stage I wanted It to have a very clean look as if it was all made of one material; I tried to focus on using techniques to break this up like using painted masking tape for a wood texture and the patterend leatherette to break up all the smooth painted texture; the cardboard was light and easy to work with as it can be manipulated and covered easily whilst also keeping its strength due to the internal structure. I found that using plasticine allowed me to create the exact shapes I wanted with ease and covered with glue and paper mache allowed the surface to be painted on. I used the plasticine as a small nod to the cartoon "morph" I watched as a child. However, I found it difficult to match the exact shades I wanted with paint so more work on how to mix colours will be needed in the future; using acrylic as well as hot glue allowed for a quick assembly and helped greatly with time and efficiency.
