Drawing From Music
Synaesthasia is, to put it briefly, “the union of the senses or the interchangeability of sensory perceptions.”
The objective of this task was to consider Gestural line, expressive line, pressured line and how that translates into sound and vice versa. I personally enjoyed this as I was able to physically feel the music and really think about how pressure captured music.
In the last image I chose to use a lighter hue of red to show the rock elements of the song but decided that the lighter the colour one could deciper the song is not dark or sad in any sense, the pressure of the line was utilised in such a way to visualise the depth and overpowering nature of the guitar, with the blue at the end of the work being a sadness as the song ended but also to reflect the hollow sound of the drums.
