Hatching
An example of an artist who used hatching would be Leonardo Da Vinci, who's use of the technique is subtle but is used to create soft shading of the natural form
Cross Hatching
MichealAngelo utilised cross hatching similar to Da Vinci but instead created darkness and depth.
Henry Moore Used contour Hatching to create round lines.
Gestural Drawing
Van Gogh and Alberto Giacometti used loose gestural lines to create an organic and fluid piece.
Stippling
Seurat used stippling to create soft lines, multiple dots and colours are utilised to create a surface which seems to be constantly shifting and moving.
