As initially I was going to make a game I began doing research on my second idea for the characters.I wanted to base my idea on the classic and not so classic monsters of media, the minotaur, candy monster, slenderman, kracken etc.
After the game was created, the genre of short stories called creepypastas were becoming poppular and some of the genres first were Jeff the killer, ben drowned and slenderman. creepy pastas originated from the term copypasta, meaning a story that was copied over and over again; but these were based around horror.
the slenderman is a rather new creature only gaining major popularity in around 2009. the game slender was released and was instantly catapulted into popularity via the gaming community on youtube. the game slender was based around a tall creature with tenticels and no face.
As well as modern horror characters I will be looking at the older characters of horror such as Dracula, the mummy, the minotaur etc. But first I shall be analysing the appearance of the slenderman. The slender man was a character created to look like that of a tree when in the dark. The slender mans long tenticles make up the branches and his tall stature the trunk. His height also lends to the unnerving feeling of uncanny when looking at him. the humanoid figure of something so familiar but off usually instills fear in a person making him perfect for something so scary you can't help but continue to stare at him. His humanoid appearance also lends to fans being able to dress as him for halloween and thus getting more exposure to the outer horror community.

Though I discontinued the idea I did use a Microsoft paint base and use Microsoft paint to create some concepts for my designs.
I made characters based on aliens, the kraken,the slender man, a demon, the minotaur, vampires, mages and the candy monster.
